Our prayer this month focuses on one of the ten Healthy Missional Markers in the Vitality Pathway Process.
By “healthy” we mean pursuing Christ. By “missional” we mean pursuing Christ’s priorities in the world. It is our fervent prayer that FirstCov becomes a healthy missional church.
Not only do these markers help us to listen to the Holy Spirit, they are also expressions of the Holy Spirit working through us.
Learn more below about this month’s marker, the “Compelling Christian Community”.
A “Compelling Christian Community” as a Missional Marker means:
- We understand that our love for one another is a powerful testimony to the deity of Jesus.
- We love each other as we are, not as we should be.
- We share life together beyond the worship service.
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hears, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47
Let our prayers be heard this month, that the FirstCov church family is intentional in using every opportunity to shine God’s love into our community.
Will you pray?
Father God, we thank You for the ability to come to you in prayer. We know that each prayer rises up to You and You will pour out blessings to us. You created us to be uniquely in Your image, each of us having our own special gifts and strengths. You also created Your church to be of one body. Help us to share our lives with each other, growing in community with one another, and loving each other just as we are. You have a never-ending love for Your children, and we ask that You fill our hearts with that same love for the body of Your church today. Help us raise each other up, walk alongside each other as trials come, and embrace one another as joy fills our lives. Let us be Your reflection of light and love in our community, so that others will see the love You have for them as well. We ask all of these things in Jesus’ most holy and precious name. Amen.
