SUMMER BOOK & BLOG

This Week: The Spirit & Atmosphere of Your Home

Read this week’s post here. Each week we’ll hear from FirstCov’ers while reading the book “Organic Outreach for Families: Turning Your Home into a Lighthouse”. It has resources for family discussion as well as a blog conversation is available. Grab a book at the table and join this summer study! Don’t forget that some of the questions at the end of the chapters are great to discuss as a family too!

FOCUS ON LIFE

This Month’s Theme: Worldwide Refugee Crisis

Learn about this important area with information, prayer, and tangible steps (right here!) for being Christ’s hands and feet in the world! The Social Concerns Ministry Team provides this monthly reminder for you, your family, and your small group! Check out this summary blog post here to learn more and see this year’s themes. A note from Allan Law from “Love One Another” (The sandwich guy!).  The Homeless Crisis has grown, in the past 50 years of working on the streets he has never seen so many people in need.   As you know a GoFundMe campaign was set up to find a warehouse to store donations, (instead of renting 7 public storage unites and his apartment with 17 freezers and  16 others at 8 drop sites… the fund has grown to $53,000 to date. Intention remains to find a facility this year. This will help with the ability to accept additional donations, and  serve the homeless community in larger numbers. Check out LOA at www.mrdinc.org.  Thank you for continued encouragement, support & compasssion.  Allan Law
