Interim Lead Pastor
Pastor Tim came to First Covenant Church of River Falls in early October, 2019, as our interim lead pastor. He received his formal education from North Park College, graduating in 1970, and North Park Theological Seminary, graduating in 1974. He comes to us with more than four decades of pastoral experience, having served five Covenant churches in Kansas, Iowa, and Minnesota. Tim and his wife, Linda, retired in 2015, and he has recently served two other congregations as interim pastor, in Michigan and Ohio. The Andersons are excited to be living here in River Falls, serving our church until a new permanent lead pastor is found. They look forward to serving the Lord together with you in the coming months.
Pastor of Christian Formation and Family Ministries
Being on staff since 2006, Brian’s current ministry is encouraging growth with individuals, couples, families, and the small group ministry. Through experiences in youth ministry, management, and mental health work, Brian developed a compassion for those who suffer and a passion for creating opportunities of formation and transformation toward Christian growth/maturity. In that pursuit, he graduated from Bethel Theological Seminary with a Master’s degree studying biblical, theological, & formation areas as well as marriage and family studies and therapy. Along with a love for God and people, he enjoys a good conversation, reading, (an occasional) run, movies, and writing (published in peer-reviewed journals). Brian, Kim (wife), Micah, Sam & Luke (sons) may be found on "little adventures" of bike rides, geocaching, hiking, "living room wrestling", playing games and reading...
Neil joined the First Covenant staff as the director of youth ministries in the summer of 2014. He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Youth Ministry, Biblical & Theological Studies, and Reconciliation Studies from Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN. Because Neil believes Scripture when it states that he is a beloved child of God, he earnestly desires to help youth (who are constantly told by society that they aren’t good enough) realize that God deeply loves them as well! Neil takes seriously the command to love God and others and seeks to live by the calling of Micah 6:8. Beyond building relationships and seeking to make God’s love known, he is an avid Minnesota sports fan, especially of baseball and the Twins! Neil likes to stay active and beyond playing, watching, and coaching sports, he also enjoys hiking, board games, spending time with family and friends, and a good book!
Jackie has been our secretary since 1994. She and her husband, Dan, have three grown children, son, Nick (married to Cindy), and daughters, Janelle (married to Travis), and Lindsay (married to Grant). She enjoys attending sporting events, is a big Twins & Vikings fan (married to a big Packers fan)! She also enjoys being a grandma to Reese and a step-grandma to Logan. Jackie likes scrapbooking, geo-caching, movies, and an occasional ride on her hubby's cycle! She enjoys singing in the church choir and helping out however she can at church. Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
