Something Every Father Should Know (A Father’s Day Reflection)

I remember growing up and thinking at times “I’m nothing like my dad.” As I’ve become a father (& wiser I hope), I have realized many times after an interaction with my children, (literally saying to myself) “That was just like my dad.”

No father is perfect but we are deeply impacted by them in positive and negative ways. Take a moment and forward this devotional and video to your father (Thanks Dad!!) or a father figure, with a word of how you saw him impact your life. If your experience had more challenges, consider praying for your father. And, in any case, remember to celebrate your Heavenly Father as well.

Dads…you are being watched. Happy Father’s Day from FirstCov!!

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.  Deuteronomy 6:4-9
